Online registration is currently closed, but many trees will be available first come, first served. The event will be located at East 160 Street and Elton Ave, and will run from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The trees below available in the first hour of the event. Please note: reservations are only valid for the first hour of the giveaway, so more trees will be available first come, first served at 3:00 PM.

Montmorency Cherry (Prunus cerasus Montmorency) - 11/25 trees will be available during the first hour of the event first come, first served.
The Montmorency Cherry is a small; ornamental; fruit tree reaching 12'-18' tall and 10'-15' wide, and is moderately difficult to maintain. This tree grows at a moderate rate, growing as tall as 12'-18' in 20 years, and reaches its mature height and width after 10-20 years. This tree requires full sun and moist; well-drained soil.

Elberta Peach (Prunus persica Elberta) - 13/25 trees will be available during the first hour of the event first come, first served.
The Elberta Peach is a small; ornamental; fruit tree reaching 8'-15' tall and 8'-15' wide, and is difficult to maintain. This tree grows at a moderate rate, growing as tall as 8'-15' in 20 years, and reaches its mature height and width after 20-50 years. This tree requires full sun and moist; well-drained soil.

Chinese Apricot (Prunus armeniaca Chinese) - 16/25 trees will be available during the first hour of the event first come, first served.
The Chinese Apricot is a small; fruit tree reaching 8'-15' tall and 6'-15' wide, and is moderately difficult to maintain. This tree grows at a moderate rate, growing as tall as 8'-15' in 20 years, and reaches its mature height and width after 5-15 years. This tree requires full sun and moist; well-drained soil.

Negronne Fig (Ficus carica Negronne) - 20/25 trees will be available during the first hour of the event first come, first served.
The Negronne Fig is a small tree reaching 15'-30' tall and 15'-30' wide, and is moderately difficult to maintain. This tree grows at a moderate rate, growing as tall as 15'-30' in 20 years, and reaches its mature height and width after 10-20 years. This tree requires full sun and moist; well-drained soil.



What will I have to agree to if I want a tree?
  • I will plant my tree in the ground and care for my tree according to NYRP guidelines.
  • I will plant my tree in the ground on property I have permission to plant on that is within the 5 boroughs of New York City.
  • I grant NYRP and Greenthumb rights to take and use photos and videos of me and all parties that come to the event with me, including minors, without compensation.
  • The information I provide can be shared by NYRP with Greenthumb for follow up about your tree and outreach.
