The trees below available in the first hour of the event. Please note: reservations are only valid for the first hour of the giveaway, so more trees will be available first come, first served at 12:00 PM.

Blenheim Apricot (Prunus armeniaca Blenheim) - 22/25 trees will be available during the first hour of the event first come, first served.
The Blenheim Apricot is a small; fruit tree reaching 8'-15' tall and 8'-15' wide, and is moderately difficult to maintain. This tree grows at a slow rate, growing as tall as 8'-15' in 20 years, and reaches its mature height and width after 20 years. This tree requires full sun and moist; well-drained soil.

Red Anjou Pear (Pyrus communis Red Anjou) - 22/25 trees will be available during the first hour of the event first come, first served.
The Red Anjou Pear is a small; ornamental; fruit tree reaching 8'-15' tall and 8'-15' wide, and is difficult to maintain. This tree grows at a moderate to fast rate, growing as tall as 8'-15' in 20 years, and reaches its mature height and width after 20-50 years. This tree requires full sun and moist; well-drained soil.

Paw Paw (Asimina triloba) - 17/25 trees will be available during the first hour of the event first come, first served.
The Paw Paw is a small; ornamental; fruit tree reaching 15'-30' tall and 15'-20' wide, and is moderately difficult to maintain. This tree grows at a moderate rate, growing as tall as 8'-15' in 20 years, and reaches its mature height and width after 20 years. This tree requires full sun; partial sun/partial shade and soil.

Celeste Fig (Ficus carica Celeste) - 20/25 trees will be available during the first hour of the event first come, first served.
The Celeste Fig is a small; fruit tree reaching 15'-30' tall and 15'-30' wide, and is moderately difficult - must wrap in winter to maintain. This tree grows at a moderate rate, growing as tall as 15'-30' in 20 years, and reaches its mature height and width after 10-20 years. This tree requires full sun and moist; well-drained soil.



What will I have to agree to if I want a tree?
  • I will plant my tree in the ground and care for my tree according to NYRP guidelines.
  • I will plant my tree in the ground on property I have permission to plant on that is within the 5 boroughs of New York City.
  • I grant NYRP and Sustainable South Bronx rights to take and use photos and videos of me and all parties that come to the event with me, including minors, without compensation.
  • The information I provide can be shared by NYRP with Sustainable South Bronx for follow up about your tree and outreach.
