The event will be located at 56-18 69th St Maspeth Federal Savings Bank, and will run from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM. The trees below available in the first hour of the event. Please note: reservations are only valid for the first hour of the giveaway, so more trees will be available first come, first served at 2:30 PM.

Atlantic White Cedar (Chamaecyparis thyoides) - 19/25 trees will be available during the first hour of the event first come, first served.
The Atlantic White Cedar is a large; evergreen tree reaching 35'-50' tall and 8'-20' wide in 40-80 years, and is easy to maintain. This tree grows at a moderate rate, growing as tall as 15'-25' in 20 years, and reaches its mature height and width after 40-80 years. This tree requires full sun and moist; well-drained.

Cornelian Cherry Dogwood (Cornus mas) - 16/25 trees will be available during the first hour of the event first come, first served.
The Cornelian Cherry Dogwood is a small; ornamental tree reaching 20'-25' tall and 15'-20' wide in 20-30 years, and is easy to maintain. This tree grows at a moderate rate, growing as tall as 15'-20' in 20 years, and reaches its mature height and width after 20-30 years. This tree requires full sun; part sun/part shade and moist; well-drained.

Japanese Tree Lilac (Syringa reticulata) - 11/25 trees will be available during the first hour of the event first come, first served.
The Japanese Tree Lilac is a small tree reaching 15'-30' tall and 10'-20' wide in 20-40 years, and is easy to maintain. This tree grows at a moderate rate, growing as tall as 15'-20' in 20 years, and reaches its mature height and width after 20-40 years. This tree requires full sun and well-drained.

Sweetbay Magnolia (Magnolia virginiana) - 21/25 trees will be available during the first hour of the event first come, first served.
The Sweetbay Magnolia is a medium; semi-evergreen; ornamental tree reaching 30'-50' tall and 15'-25' wide in 30-40 years, and is easy to maintain. This tree grows at a moderate rate, growing as tall as 20'-35' in 20 years, and reaches its mature height and width after 30-40 years. This tree requires full sun; part shade/part sun and wet; well-drained.



What will I have to agree to if I want a tree?
  • I will plant my tree in the ground and care for my tree according to NYRP guidelines.
  • I will plant my tree in the ground on property I have permission to plant on that is within the 5 boroughs of New York City.
  • I grant NYRP and Council Member Elizabeth S. Crowley's Office rights to take and use photos and videos of me and all parties that come to the event with me, including minors, without compensation.
  • The information I provide can be shared by NYRP with Council Member Elizabeth S. Crowley's Office for follow up about your tree and outreach.
